Xin Chao everybody! My name's Henry. I'm an International Student all the way from Vietnam (located in South-East Asia). I have been in the States for 5 years now and I am still fascinated with learning new things about the American culture. I am a Senior Business major concentrating specifically on Accounting and International Business. Some interesting random facts about me is that I am an adamant fan of House of Cards (kinda responsible for my interest in politics). I enjoy leading and organizing events, in fact, I am currently in the process of organizing a TEDx talk that will take place this fall. I have taken culinary classes and have developed a love for cooking. Finally, I started the International Students Club to promote interaction and awareness of the various cultures that are present on our campus. I'm very excited for the upcoming school year and cannot wait to see what it has in store for us. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each and everyone of you!
Hello my name is Abel Mims your new Executive Vice President, and I'm looking forward to having a great year with you. I'm originally from Denver Co (the best place in America), and I came to Texas as freshman at SWAU not knowing a single soul, since then I've grown to love this place, to me it's like my family away from home and as your EVP I'll do my best to make it a better place. Some of my hobbies include weightlifting and doing maze puzzles. For those who are unaware of what my job entails, here is a brief summary. As EVP I am the head of Senate, Senate is your student representative to SA or Student Association. Senate is divided into 5 sections Men's and Ladies dorm, Off campus, Clubs and Student Services, each has their own responsibilities. For example you may see recycling bottles around campus or a change machine in the Men's dorm, these were brought about by your Senators. My goal as the head of Senate is to insure that the projects that our Senators complete are beneficiary to the student body, and that your voices are heard this school year. Thanks for letting me serve you.

My name is Luissa Ponce and I am currently a sophomore nursing major. Although I was born in the beautiful, rich country of Mexico, I was raised in the enchanting state of New Mexico. It has been five years since my family and I made the move to the big state of Texas but most importantly, it has been four years since I met my best friend, Jesus. I have been blessed with the responsibility of being your Ministries Vice President and hope that these future experiences will bring all of us a little closer to Christ. When I am not running around doing a million things on campus, I love spending time with my goofy family, laughing until my stomach hurts with my friends, and learning about the different cultures that make up our Southwestern family. I am so excited to be a part of your Student Association and am looking forward to another great year.

I’m Still deciding if I want to it to be in an Adventist institution but I will go wherever God leads me. I love music, and involving myself in different sports such as MMA and volleyball. I’m a different kind of guy that likes a good time and looks outside of the box. I like to find potential in people and bring it to the surface. I just really like to help people suceed in their futures which is probably the main reason why I want to be an ESL professor. But yeah, that’s me.

Hello! Born and raised in the beautiful town of Houston, Texas! I am half Mexican and half Salvadorian, so I have the privilege of being familiar with two different wonderful cultures. SWAU is my first Adventist education experience and I have fallen in love with it. I am a nursing major and plan to continue my education after nursing school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. My ultimate goal is to share Gods love around the world as a Missionary nurse. I was very active in my high schools yearbook staff, photography class, and swim team. I still enjoy those same hobbies to this day. It’s my pleasure to be involved and meet new people so don’t be shy to say hi!
